However, Turkish name for our location is "Beyoglu" and there are many Speculation about the origins of the word. The most common is known while Emperor Kanuni Sultan Suleyman ruled Ottoman Empire, Turks named this area as Beyoğlu because Venice's Gritti consulate Andre son Luigi Giritti resided in this area, and "Beyoglu" means a gentleman's son. Beyoğlu has characteristic of many civilizations and this can be seen in its historical buildings, Mosques, Churches, Synagogues, Bell Tower and sounds of Azan.
